This is usually is caused by several factors. 1. Use of non-brand named bulbs. 2. Larger wattage bulbs, which cause excessive heat build-up shortening the life of the bulb. 3. Power surges.

Central air conditioning and heat pump condensers may cause a noticeable slight dimming on start up. Lights may flicker or dim due to startup of some appliances or motor driven equipment. Check with you local utility company for possible defects in supply source or for utility switching to other utilities for supply.

A continuous chirping generally indicates a low battery. If you change the battery and it continues to chirp, then the detector is most likely defective and should be replaced.

There are two buttons on GFCI devices. You can test the device by pressing the black button. That should cause the circuit to trip, indicated by the red button popping out. When this happens, the outlet will be disabled and all other outlets and electrical connections on that circuit will be disabled. You reset the device by pressing the red button until it latches in place. If the device tripped by itself, check for causes that might have had it trip before trying to reset it.

That smell is caused by the panel and/or feeder cable overheating due to excessive current draw. This is a FIRE HAZARD! You should contact one of our electricians to troubleshoot the problem.

Assuming the circuit breaker is good, you have either an open natural or an open hot wire leading to your lighting circuit.

A frying or crackling sound could indicate arcing between the breakers and the panel connection points. This should be taken seriously and you should reach out to one of our licensed electricians to troubleshoot.

Most likely one of your main fuses is blown. Please contact us to inspect the situation.
